I am Rachit. Like some of you , I too wanted to get into core companies but a couple of  rumours ... surrounded me. So first I would like to address them.
NOTE: (Following experience is purely personal with respect to the placement season.)

Rumours

 1:  Hi-Fi projects are needed to get good placements.
Ans: Nopes, as per my experience they are not required . I didn't have a single working project on my resume XD (except my very basic 8085 project ). In one interview TI interviewer kept aside a seemingly complex project a candidate had brought.
Moral -  MS karni hai toh banao,warna no tension.

2: CEDT is necessary for good placements
Ans: Here again ans is no. If you're way too enthusiastic about electronics toh jaao warna rehne do.
It won't help in placements(Gadre sir will agree with this hopefully :p)
Moral -  kuch naya banane ka keeda hai toh best place; only for placements,  nooo.

3: Hi-Fi internships are required for core placements
Ans: Nooo, in fact i had no intern on my resume while selection . Hence, not necessary
Moral - agar PPO ka chance ho toh jaao warna f*** it as well

4: Very high percentage is required for core placements
Ans: Nopes but a decent one (above and around 75) leaves a good impression at the interviewer.
Moral - Padh liya karo endsems ke liye

FINAL GYAAN: Rely on your basics. Basics strong nahi honge toh waise bhi nikal denge interview se. So at least for core placements aforementioned factors don't add significant value to your profile unless your basics are strong . They can surely earn you brownie points but nothing more.


As a side note,  I had only one 8085 project, no internship on my resume while getting selected at samsung.

Note: Only one company (NVIDIA) places heavy weightage on resume .So decide accordingly.

Analog: questions on basic but very conceptual network analysis problems (problems with inductors, diodes, connection of 2 capacitors with unuequal initial charge) , opamps in networks,frequency domain transfer funtion, concepts of series and parallel resonance in rlc ckts, D/A converter using R2R ladder, LC oscillation, 3db frequency from pole zero plot, question on shorting a non ideal current sourse with a non ideal voltage source, finding Vce in a DC biased BJT and a question on combitanion of 2 CMOS.Do a lot of practise for network analysis problems, resonance fundas and frequency analysis. Rest of the topics like basic BJT, MOSFET and CMOS are not that important.

Note: I want to clarify what is meant by basics . For example  you do current mirror understand basics don't start delving into wilson, widlar and types. Similarly Opamp understand basics don't go deep much into internal structure etc. in Diff amp no need to do Diffamp with active load.You would be digressing if you do that.

Concluding note:

1) Technical interviews are HR interviews as well (they are looking for people who can work in a team)  please be:
a) Cheerful(smile a lot)
b) Confident(overconfidence would be disastrous)
c) Never ever cut the interviewer or flaunt your knowledge as  they are biggies from the industry having years of experience. Be humble and polite.

2) YOU WILL FACE REJECTIONS . They are part of the process. I personally faced 6 rejections (4 in intern season and 2 in placement (TI 3rd round) and WD before landing a job at SAMSUNG. It is natural to feel sad unhappy, sometimes you might feel some undeserving candidate got through
but remember it was their day and your's will too come. Keep Learning.

3) For Third year's intern na lage toh please dukhi mat hona . Intern people have PPO ka chance whereas you have extra time for studying
so chill Opportunities are same.

4) Keep away from demotivating people saying ab companies nikal gayi ab nahi hogi placement generations of Nsitians have got placed and you too would get placed . Hardwork mein kami nahi rehni chahiye. Phir jis din tumhara luck likha hai tab ho jaayegi.

5) Take it easy and light.Enjoy the whole process click photos with friends you will definitely relish these days.

6) Take help of seniors and people placed in that company . I was very lucky to have such great seniors(Shreejita mam Akhil sir Sujala mam Riddhi mam Siddharth sir Saksham sir Satyarth sir Akshay sir, hope didn't miss any) they keep guiding and motivating you.Most useful resource for me.
